The Rescue Centre rescued 6 Barn Owl chicks from Auburn, SA, after their nest was destroyed by another tree falling onto it. They were in shock, cold and hungry when they arrived, but after a night in the incubator they bounced back with a vengence! You can follow their progress on our Facebook page.
Minton Farm Animal Rescue Centre is a not for profit organisation providing a free community service to rehabilitate and release injured and orphaned native animals and birds brought to the Centre, located in Cherry Gardens SA.
No collection service is provided.
Approx 300 orphaned and injured animals and birds are housed throughout 6 acres of onsite facilities. Minton Farm Native Animal Rescue Centre is owned and managed by Mrs. Bev Langley. Over 10,700 injured and orphaned creatures have been housed onsite that have been referred to the Centre by Councils, Cleland Wildlife, Adelaide Zoo and 18 Vets.
Animals rescued include: kangaroos, possums, echidnas, koalas, wombats, and lizards.
Birds rescued include: kookaburras,Tawny frogmouth, magpies, owls, hawks, eagles, lorikeets, rosellas and large parrots to name a few.
Volunteering helps Minton Farm.
Over 500 volunteers aged 18 yrs and over have been trained at the centre, helping out on a weekly roster on a Tuesday or a Thursday from 10am to 2pm to feed and maintain the creatures, and to build enclosures and maintain the Rescue Centre.
Tea and coffee are provided.
